With a new Halo title coming toward us, the majority of the community are waiting to see how they can smash each other in multiplayer. Halo 4 will continue the epic story that started many years ago, and fans will lock in once more to snipe, sticky, and frag each other across a plethora of maps. A couple of details have surfaced about the game in a recent interview held with Game Informer, and they’re worth checking out.
Lead Multiplayer Designer Brad Welch for 343 Industries spoke in the video interview about a new multiplayer mode in the game that’s been called “Regicide Mode.” This feature is a free-for-all deathmatch in which one player rolls as the “King,” and other players must attempt to remove him/her from their right of power. You can still wipe out the non-King players, though you won’t be rewarded with as many points for doing so. The King will issue up a bounty, rewarding players with a much bigger point value, and the bounty increases with each successful kill made on them.
Halo 4’s ranking system and leveling specs have been revealed as well. Players will pick up XP with each win, which will go towards leveling up. Upon leveling, you’ll earn Spartan points which will allow you new armor abilities. One of these abilities is brand new, and takes multiplayer on a much different path. “Forerunner Vision,” as it’s called, will let you see straight through walls. Now Spartans will each become Superman. That’s just the beginning.
