The Kinect Sex Game Is NOT Happening

So if you’ve been following any gaming industry news as of late then you will know that Thrixxx, a risque development company of interactive sex games, got a hold of some Kinect development software and attempted to create a Kinect sex game. Videos of the gameplay and more got out to the web, but were since removed due to mature content restrictions. Microsoft has stepped into the ring and given a final word on this subject: The Kinect sex game is not, nor will it ever be, coming. Microsoft stated, to put it clearly, that the Xbox is for friendly family fun games where players shoot and dismember people for entertainment, not for touching women’s naughty parts.

“This isn’t the first example of a technology being used in ways not intended by its manufacturer, and it won’t be the last,” Microsoft said in a statement. “Microsoft did not authorize or license its technology for this use. Xbox is a family friendly games and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform, and would not condone this type of game for Kinect.”
Personally, I have no interest in any kind of sex simulator for Kinect. Now, may that be because I am in a wonderful relationship, or because it’s some poorly-simulated sexual environment that can’t ever compare to real life, I don’t really know. Both reasons are looking pretty good at this point. I understand that there are those out there who feel that developers should stand on their own and be able to create what they want, but honestly ask yourself: If this ever passed through, would you really want to see some sex game on the Wii? Would you really want shelves tainted with things like this?
I wouldn’t.
