E3 2009 – MAG Demoed With 256 Players

Aside from an MMORPG like World of Warcraft, what’s the largest number of people you’ve played with in a game? Lets narrow that down to a FPS, and I bet that it’s probably not more than 32. Well last year we were blown away with the announcement of MAG. This is a game that promised us 256 players in an all-out battle at the very same time. That’s a huge number, and plenty of people (myself included) thought that it just wasn’t going to be possible.

Today we were proven wrong at Sony’s big press conference. Eight people took the stage and started up a game with 248 other players from across the country to give us the first live demo of the game. It went off without a hitch. We snagged some footage from the show, so check it out.
