Giving A Virtual Hand Of Rememberance In Halo: Reach

For all of the millions of Halo fans out there, just released is yet another way to showcase your undying passion for the blockbuster series.Bungie released a new website, RememberReach.com, which is a promotional site for the new title in the series.

The website features a user-generated sculpture of Noble Team which is created by a robotic arm. Now visitors to the site will gain the chance to contribute to a “Continually regenerating sculpture composed of thousands of points of light” that will be constructed thanks to the movable robotic arm. The sculpture is also made possible by specially built camera equipment that “captures and composites the movements of light pulses from the robotic arm.” The arm itself was originally one of the tools used in the construction of automobiles and was modified specifically for this purpose.

Fans can go to the site, link the site to their Facebook, and then choose where to plant their point of light and spread the word of remembrance for Noble Team.

Bungie will also be unveiling new live-action commercial shorts on the site as directed by Noam Murro, who directed the “Birth of a Spartan” video short. All of the new videos provide a more in-depth look at the people of Reach, and show the planet just mere hours before its fall. The final short in the series, “Deliver Hope”, is set for release on Halo.Xbox.com, Halo Waypoint, and bungie.net on August 26th.

I am definitely looking forward to the game’s release next month. This game will be sure to break all the boundaries in the series.

I’ve planted my point of light. Where will you plant yours?
