Id’s Rage Release Date Announced

If you’ve been a gamer as long as I have, then you remember the good ole’ days when you would sit down at your computer, turn the lights off, and get your BFG ready for destruction in Doom. Doom’s maker, id Software, has been under the waves for quite some time since, with little being said of what lies in wait.

Well, this year Quakecon 2010 brings us new hope, and new announcements from many of our long awaited favorites, including id Software.

According to a long awaited announcement from id, their new FPS, Rage, finally has a release date of September 13, 2011. Yes, that’s right, we will have to wait another year for this anticipated title to drop,  But at least now we all have a day to count down to.

Along with this breaking news, id threw in a few more tidbits to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Id released that the game will include some mini games, as well as a monetary system, and new sweet-looking vehicles. Also, the game will not tell its story through large cutscenes, as the developers wanted Rage to speak through in-game sequences.

Also heading the top of the announcements was the news of auto-turrets, RC bomb cars, and of course the old-fashioned shoot ’em up tactics. The game incorporates melee combat as well for those die-hard beat stick fans.

With another year to bide our time, who knows what id will bring forth in this epic new FPS?
