For those of us who were lucky enough to be enrolled in the Xbox Live Update will find an email in our inboxes from Microsoft (we are supposed to anyway) telling us that the update which we have been a part of will go live as of today. “On November 1, 2010, there will be a mandatory service update to Xbox Live. This update will both add new features to your service and also enhance the interface, navigation, and responsiveness of Xbox Live,” the email reads.
As well as adding Kinect compatibility, the update will add ESPN, reconstructed Avatars, and a new voice codec for chat, along with other things. This means that avatar awards which we have been missing for a long time, as well as the ability to talk with your friends in the Dashboard preview will return. It’s been such a long time.
