Super Smash Land Demo Now Available

Super Smash Land, the Super Smash Brothers “de-make” game that has been made to the constraints of the original Gameboy now has an available demo for free on the PC.

Dan Fornace, the Designer/Programmer on the project, says that the whole project has been underway since September, and has let us know that in addition to the characters of Kirby, Pikachu, and Mario, the game will feature two secret characters when released. The chiptune soundtrack for the game will also be free when the game releases. Sound Engineer Brenden Becker states that, “I’m paying attention to detail where it counts and making sure the music and sounds are independently 100 percent possible using GameBoy hardware. Everything is done by hand from scratch, even the coin and fireball noises that sound pretty close to the originals.”

I am extremely excited for this game, and as soon as more details become available we will be sure to cover it. Get your free demo here, and don’t forget to take a look at some gameplay footage below.
