Fallout: New Vegas Gets A Cybernetic Mod Makeover

The screen above is from a new mod for Bethesda’s Fallout: New Vegas called “Project Nevada.” The mod adds to the PC version of the game, introducing bullet-time, sprinting, cybernetic implants, and much more to the wasteland RPG.

Many argue that owning a Bethesda game is far greater on the PC over console, solely because of the modding community. The team behind Fallout 3’s most memorable mod, Fallout 3 Wanderer’s Edition, are back with much more to offer New Vegas. The team has picked up New Vegas, added many popular new features, and revamped the overall difficulty to create a faster gaming experience.

It looks like most of the features being added by the mod team are the sort that you would expect with modern shooters. Expanding crosshairs make an appearance, reflecting weapon spread, and HUD elements are introduced that reflect how your character is wearing a visor or helmet.

The biggest and most fun features to be added to the game via the mod team are the effects of bullet-time, complete with support for the VATS system, and the ability to break into a running sprint, which allows you to tackle enemies to the ground. There’s even a new cybernetic implant system, which allows the player to become a sort of superhero. It even comes with a complete custom interface, which is pictured above.

To see the mod in action, check out the videos posted below. While it isn’t fully ready yet, it is something to look forward to. Does this look like something you’d dive into?
