This Would Make Anyone Buy A PS3

Ben McCambridge is 29 years old, and the video below is the first thing he has ever directed.

McCambridge currently works as an assistant editor in Los Angeles cutting and editing commercials. Speaking of the commercial below, he said, “I’ve worked on dozens of commercials and thought I’d try my hand at making one myself. At the end of the day I made it because I’m a gamer, wrote it down, and liked the idea.”

It was a great idea, too.

McCambridge forked out about $6,000 from his own pocket in order to produce the commercial, spending most of it on shooting permits throughout the city. Compared to how much a usual commercial costs, six grand is just the tip of the barrel.

The video is about how McCambridge sees the PS3 – as a world in which people, regardless of age, can leave reality and enter other worlds. The ad hasn’t been shown to Sony, but it has made its way to the net. I suppose the ominous eyes of Sony are watching, and they will see it soon if not already.

McCambridge does hope that Sony takes an interest in his work, and so do I. Honestly, after seeing this I think Sony needs to offer this guy a job.
