Microsoft Updating Disc Format For Xbox 360

Microsoft is rolling out a new Dashboard preview for Xbox 360 users as they get ready to update their disc format.

“As part of the preview program, players will receive a free copy of Halo: Reach as well as other possible rewards,” says Larry Hyrb, Xbox Live Director of Programming. The preview will only be available in the U.S., and if you’re interested you can sign up here. Not much more is known about the update, such as what it will entail, when it will roll out, or how long it will be in effect for. We do know, though, that this will not update the discs to Blu-ray format.
