PlayStation Network Down For Maintenance As Cyber Threat Rolls In

It looks like the PlayStation Network is down for some unexplained maintenance while many of Sony’s websites, such as the PlayStation Blog, are loading slowly, if at all. Some hours before the PSN and Sony sites had these unexpected issues the hacker online collective Anonymous issued a statement to Sony referencing their actions against hackers, namely GeoHot. Anonymous has not taken any credit for an attack on Sony, however, and Sony has yet to confirm any sort of attack at all.

PlayStation’s official Twitter account reported that there were problems with the network, stating, “PSN currently undergoing sporadic maintenance. Access to the PSN may be interrupted throughout the day. We apologize for any inconvenience.” Reports of issues began coming in right after the Anonymous statement was posted, though right now it seems to be functioning as normal again.

As of right now, the issue seems to have been resolved. Are any of you still having issues with any of Sony’s sites or the PSN?
