Resident Evil 6 Will Be ‘Way Different’

The Resident Evil series has changed much with the entries of Resident Evil 4 and 5. A lot of fans weren’t on board with the turn the series has taken, and we’ve just received word that more changes are coming with the sixth installment of the series.

Masachika Kawata, the Producer of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, tells us that big changes are in the works for Resident Evil 6. He says, “The series will see a complete renovation with the next entry on every level, but we can’t forget about all the previous entries that have led to the creation of many possibilities for the franchise. I can’t say if we’re going to make it survival horror or a shooter, but I can say that it’ll be totally different.”

Really? Is Capcom trying to lose the series’ fanbase? Taking the game away from its survival horror roots is like taking the ghosts out of Pac-Man. I personally am tired of all the “changes” that have been done to the series, and at this point I say Capcom either takes the game back to its roots, or ends the franchise all together.

What do you think?
