EA Is On The Fence With The Old Republic Launch Date

EA held a fourth quarter investor call yesterday, and when talk came about of The Old Republic’s release, the conversation wavered. The company provided documentation to investors that the title is expected to launch in either “Q2 FY 12 or Q3 FY 12,” which basically means the second half of 2011. This, however, could not be the case as of now.

During the call, EA’s CEO John Riccitiello stated that, “The launch date, while in our fiscal year (before March 2012) is not yet certain.”

Later on in the conversation the CFO of EA, Eric Brown, stated that “the low end of our guidance range assumes the outside possibility of a January launch.” This would mean we wouldn’t see Star Wars: The Old Republic until 2012. You may now use the Force to throw something.

Right now the only thing we can say is that EA still hopes that the game will release before next March. One thing that’s for certain is the fact that the paperwork, CEO, and CFO at EA are not on the same wavelength. Right now we can just keep an ear out to catch any news we can about the game.
