Permanent Admiration For 3DS Augmented Reality

A user on IHeartChaos by the name of Cranberryzero loves the 3DS augmented reality card capability. He is so fond of it, in fact, that he got the card permanently inked on his skin. Now he can take his Mii everywhere he goes, which is quite creepy when you think about it.

Ever since the Nintendo 3DS released, images of the augmented reality cards have popped up everywhere. The card has been plastered on everything from t-shirts and hats, to the sides of buildings just to make Nintendo characters pop up everywhere possible. Of course you can say that since this ability released, it was only a matter of time before this happened, right?

Posted on a video of the AR card in action, Cranberryzero explains that it works like clockwork except for one issue that can be remedied:

Right now, the tattoo doesn’t always work in really bright light, like sunlight, but it works fine in dim-ish light. I think I need to go back and get an outline around it, because I think the 3DS is looking for the edge of the card and can’t find it in bright light. In the manual, it says to never obscure the white border around the card when you’re using the 3DS, something I didn’t notice til later.

The video is a bit shaky, but you can see it below. Now I am all for tattoos, as I have many of them. I will say, though, that this isn’t the best idea for permanent ink. If you’re a person who is adamant about getting something like this, my advice is that you get it placed somewhere else. Perhaps on your thigh, or your inner arm. These are places that can be covered at will, and uncovered to show off the piece. Just some suggestions.
