Sony says that the PlayStation Network should be back up and running at full capacity by the end of the week. This will be the first time a full network run has been attempted since the network was down in April. Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea, however, still will not be fully operational at this time.
For everyone else, this is what you can look forward to:
– Full functionality on PlayStation®Store
– In-game commerce
– Ability to redeem vouchers and codes
– Full functionality on Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PCs
– Full functionality on Media Go
PlayStation’s President, Kaz Hirai stated that ”
We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love. We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time.” Here’s to hoping everything works out, as many of us are looking to redeem that welcome back package we’ve been promised.
