Crysis 2 Finally Gets That Upgrade To Its Graphics

Anyone who is a PC gamer knows that when it comes to benchmarking your rig, Crysis is the bar at which to peak. The title basically established to top of cutting edge graphics for the platform, which is why a lot of players were disappointed when they found out that Crysis 2 did not yet support DirectX 11. Many felt that their high-performance gaming machines were underutilized, and they were right in their assumptions.

Well all is not lost, as Crytek has officially released two free upgrade packs that will push video cards to the brink and force many players into a graphical coma.

Once you automatically update the game to version 1.9, you can download and install the DX 11 Ultra Upgrade, that adds features like tesselation, realistic shadows, displacement mapping, and much more. After that, you can grab the Hi Res texture Pack which includes immense graphical improvements whether you’re using DX 11 or DX 9. Check out the trailer below to see these new upgrades in action.
