Mirror’s Edge To Return With Frostbite 2 Engine? [E3 2011]

By the looks of it, Mirror’s Edge 2 is in the works, and it could possibly release using the Frostbite 2 Engine. This all comes to us from EA Games President Frank Gibeau.

Mirror’s Edge 2 was announced back in March, as Gibeau stated that the company was “looking for ideas for it, absolutely.” The Frostbite 2 Engine was debuted at E3, with its first title being Battlefield 3. Gibeau stated in an interview with Gametrailers, “We love that franchise. The DICE guys really created something special the first time around. You’ve got to have a big idea to be able to do the next one, and that’s what we’re working on.”

I am a big fan of Mirror’s Edge, and I cant wait to see what’s in store with the next installment. No release date has been given, but I assume we can look for the game on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Using the Frostbite 2 Engine, I can only imagine how the next title will look, and I’m excited.

Watched the Mirror’s Edge trailer for the first one, I liked the concept, but not as a fullscale game. It’d be so AWESOME if it was a Kincet or Wii game that requires you moving your own body, but seems too boring on any other system with no body movement.

oh definitely going to be getting this, played the first one on pc but was a little dissapointed in my computer so ill be going the console route this time.

Sweet!! Yeah, I’m probably going to get this one as well… the PC version. I’m planning to build my first ever rig later this year or early next year, depending on how other stuff in my life works out. I hope to build a system that can handle the most current games at medium settings. I don’t have the funds nor do I want to blow my savings building the ultimate machine. Priorities, priorities, priorities. Thanks Raine! Nice bit of news!

Looked at this several times, but never gave it a go. Looks like I’ll be checking this new one out!

I am a HUGE fan of this game!! IF YOU HAVNT PLAYED IT ON 360, YOUR MISSING OUT!! Amazing graphics (cant wait to see it with the Frostbite 2 Engine!!) Good story line and fun running around. AMAZING GAME to play when the standard FPS, MMO games need a break. Try it, you will be happy you did.
