The International DotA 2 Championships Are Over, And We Have Our Winners

The International, which was the DotA 2 championship that was held at GamesCom this year, is unfortunately over. For the Ukrainian team, Na’vi, however this is not unfortunate at all. They took first place in the tournament, scoring themselves a cool $1 million throughout its duration.

Hot on their tails were Ehome, the team from China. The top eight teams won prizes, and this is how it all breaks down:

1. Na’vi – $1 million
2. Ehome – $250,000
3. Scythe.SG – $150,000
4. MYM – $80,000
5. (tied) M5, iG – $35,000 each
7. (tied) OK.Nirvana.int, Mith-Trust – $25,000 each

Over $1.5 million was handed over to the teams in the championship, and if that’s not a way to show some player appreciation, I don’t know what is. Valve had a great strategy to advertise their game this year, and many players were more than excited to not only see the championship, but the gameplay as well. Give these teams some much-earned respect, and keep your eye out for some DotA 2 news that will be coming soon.
