Skyward Sword Will Have 50-100 Hours Of Gameplay

There’s nothing more disappointing than waiting patiently for a game, only to be given maybe 6 hours worth of single player gameplay. Yes, I’m looking at you Force Unleashed 2. At least FPS titles like the Call of Duty franchise can make up for their short campaigns with multiplayer modes that can keep you entertained for hours on end. However, if you really want to get the most bang for your buck without having to play the same maps over and over, you might want to look into picking up the next Zelda game.

At a recent press conference, Shigeru Miyamoto himself took a few minutes to get away from 3DS news (which was the focus of the conference) to talk about Skyward Sword. He demonstrated some of the finer features of the game using the Wiimote Plus to control Link, but that wasn’t the most exciting thing. Instead, it was the announcement that you could expect between 50-100 hours of gameplay.

In an age where 20 hours of play might seem like a lot, the prospect of having up to 100 hours is nothing short of exciting. Sure, there’s part of me that wonders where I’m going to find the time. However, finding a good game that’s “too long” is next to impossible.
