If you are a fan of anime, there is a good chance you know who or what Studio Ghibli is. If you didn’t already know, they have grouped with Level-5 (Makers of Dragon Quest VIII and IX, and the Professor Layton series) to put out the game Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.
We knew that this game would eventually come over to North America, but now we actually have a set timeframe to look forward to. There isn’t anything set in stone just yet, but we know it will come to the PS3 in 2012. That is a rather broad span of time, but it’s better than waiting, say, twelve years.
This is going to be a visually game. It’s also going to be interesting to see how the story plays out, as you are essentially playing through a Studio Ghibli movie. Here’s the description:
“Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is an epic tale of a young boy, Oliver, who embarks on a journey to become a master magician and bring back his dead mother from the parallel world of Ni no Kuni. Along the way he encounters some extraordinary characters, many of whom become helpful allies. They guide Oliver as he explores the vast world and learns the magical skills that will make him strong enough to face his most deadly foes, and ultimately survive an encounter with the White Witch herself.”
