Notch Wins Early Rounds Of “Scrolls” Battle

We are all patiently awaiting the full release of Minecraft next month. We all know that the game will be…top notch. However, those of us concerned with the ongoing legal battle between Zenimax/Bethesda and Mojang are waiting for answers, as we want to know if Mojang will be putting out a game called “Scrolls” or be forced to change its name. As an update for this legal matter, Minecraft creator Notch tweeted:

We won the interim injunction! We can keep using the name “Scrolls”. ZeniMax/Bethesda can still appeal the ruling, but I’m very happy. :D

This is great news, but the war is long from over. There a lot of important-sounding court things and lawyer-speak that are still going to happen, so the name still has a chance at being lost, but this is a good first sign. Notch later tweeted that his original idea to solve this matter should still happen regardless of the outcome, and I fully agree. A real life Quake duel would make my year.
