Rocksteady Hints That More Batman Will Be Coming After Arkham City

Rocksteady is exceptionally happy with how their previous Batman title has done since its release, as well as the new title players are waiting to pick up this month – Batman: Arkham City. There’s no argument that a series centered around the Dark Knight has potential, and the developer has picked up on this idea with pleasure.

In an interview with CVG, Marketing Game Manager at Rocksteady Dax Ginn spoke highly of the possibility that players will see more games dealing with the Arkham series. When Ginn was questioned about the future of the Batman titles he said, “Man. That’s really tough. I mean I think as long as we’re still enjoying it and as long as we feel we can contribute to the Batman universe… That’s how it feels. There’s some amazing stuff going on with Batman all around the world at the moment and we feel as though we’re making our own little contribution in the form of the Arkham-verse. So as long as we’ve got stories to tell, so long as we feel we can do that and do that really well.”

The developer feels that there would be much potential in working with the Batman world, and they touch on how they want to continue working with him as a character. “There’s no other character that’s as awesome as Batman who’s got such an incredible rogues gallery, who’s got such and amazing structure for gameplay. All it takes is to give a guy an assault rifle and it changes the entire nature of combat. So you can put Batman up against 30 thugs in the street and just cane them and feel like a total don, but as soon as one of them’s got a shotgun you have to rethink what you do,” says Ginn. He goes on to say that he isn’t too sure about what’s happening in the future, but right now the they are liking the spot they’re in. For the full interview you can head to CVG’s page. Batman: Arkham City is set to release on October 18th for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
