Metal Gear Solid: Rising Gets Revised Storyline, Now After Metal Gear Solid 4

If you’ve been following the Metal Gear Solid series, then you’ll have known about the latest title from Konami was called Metal Gear Solid: Rising. It starred the robotic ninja, Raiden, and was supposed to be set in between the events of MGS2 and MGS4. We haven’t heard much about the game until lately, but the news surfacing about the title now has a lot of things changing, and not certainly for the good.

Platinum, the developer behind Vanquish and Bayonetta, are heading up this new title. The news from them is that the game has not only gotten a new title, but a completely revised storyline. Now instead of taking place between games it will now take place after the events of MGS4. According to Konami, this was changed to “show off that they can bring to the series.” In the new title, which has now being called “Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance,” Raiden has taken up sides with private military companies to pick up various jobs. These jobs include “VIP protection, military training and other duties.” Basically, Raiden has turned into a rent-a-cop.

You can pick this and more information up on the game’s official site. There’s still a lot to reveal about the game, and Konami needs to get on the wheels to get them turning. There’s a video interview coming on December 13th called “The Truth Behind RISING,” which will explain more about the title and collaboration between the companies. The new changes are sure to upset some diehard Metal Gear Solid fans, but we’ll just need to wait and see what the interview has for us.
