Valve’s Chet Faliszek Squashes Half-Life 3 Rumors

Different spurts of information have shown up across the net all pointing toward the possibility of seeing a Half-Life 3 title. Many gamers are speculating that the game would be showing up in 2012, and they’re taking all kinds of references and twisting them to support the rumors. The rumors all started with the appearance of a branded t-shirt, and have spun out of control.

These different references have been waken from Portal 2, possible leaks from Gabe, and tons of emails sent to the headmaster of Valve trying to find out if these claims are holding any truth whatsoever. Chet Faliszek picked up on all of this commotion, and wanted to help set the record straight. In a post on the Steam users’ forums, Faliszek stated:

You are being trolled.

There is no ARG.

Wheatley’s speech was set in Portal 2 fiction – that is all.

I just want to say this so there is no confusion. This is the community trolling the community nothing more. While it is nice to see people excited about anything HL, I hate seeing people being trolled like this.

Thanks.

Well, doesn’t that just put the kibosh on things? As sad as it is to see, it does help to have an official word on what’s happening. There was even an email sent to Gabe himself, and he responded with the final “No.” Sorry, fans, looks like we’ll still have to sit and twiddle our thumbs on this one for a while.
