Lead Designer For Fallout: New Vegas Makes His Own Unofficial Mod

It turns out that in the sea of eager modders out there who set out to try and right the “inadequacies” in Fallout: New Vegas, there is one who takes their job very seriously. This special guy is none other than J.E. Sawyer, one of the lead designers on the game itself. Sawyer has produced a new unofficial mod for the game, and it’s almost complete.

The mod offers a new patch for the PC version of the game that, in a way, nerfs it. It lowers the level cap to 35, halves XP gain rate, reduces water and food drop rates, and adds changes to a lot of other aspects in the game. Sawyer details the mod over on his Formspring, where you can see each of the new features.

Players can also expect to see base HP rates lowered, item weights modified, and durability tweaked. Essentially, the game becomes much harder and provides more of a challenge. You can download the mod in its current version by heading to its page. If you’re up for some hardcore gameplay, then Sawyer’s mod is right up your alley. Check it out for yourself if you’ve the guts.
