Although they’re not terribly fast, some real, moving Koopa shells have made their way into our world. Ok, they’re actually 3D printed shells with wheels, but this could totally be the end of all things, or driving safely on the road at least.
Maker Michael Curry (aka Skimbal) and friends have printed out some Koopamobiles, or “Turtle Shell Racers” as they are officially dubbed, and started having some races in Kansas City. From the looks of things, the bodies were printed out on a Makerbot 3D printer, and mounted onto RC cars, but there is obviously more work there than that.
While they’re not going to knock you off of the road just yet, they do have some potential. If you’d like to build one yourself, you can find all the information you need here, but try to use this knowledge for good.
