Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

It takes a lot to say that you’re the “first” to do anything nowadays. However, I think the new Epic Mickey game can take the cake for comedic musical for a video game. It’s unsurprising that Disney would take the first stab at this, what with all of their musical movies. This upcoming title will pay homage to 80 years of Disney creations.

The new game coming in the fall will be called Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. The reason being that Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit will be playing side by side, and will be unable to move forward without each other. Obviously, this game is best played with two people, but should one player need to leave, or decide they’re done playing, the computer will step in to play alongside you.

Normally, playing a game with two people means you both have basically the same set of skills. You will both cause damage, and have the ability to interact with your environment in the same way. In this game, it looks as though Mickey will have his usual paint and thinner for drawing and erasing, while Oswald will have a remote that shoots bolts of electricity. As there will now be animatronic enemies to interact with, Oswald will be the only one able to fight them. (I bet it’s those creepy little robots from the “it’s a small world” ride) Mickey, on the other hand would be the only one able to fight the blotlings.

This game seems as though it is going to be best used with the PlayStation Move. It will be easier to move the controller as if you were using a paintbrush. However, you will still be able to use a DualShock controller if that’s your preference. There have been literally a thousand tweaks to this game from improved HD graphics to camera movements, and everything in between.
