Teen Constructs Scientific Calculator In Minecraft

Since the entire focus of Minecraft is to build things, it’s no surprise that people have constructed some pretty amazing structures. Vast cities, full-scale replicas of galaxy-class starships and countless other things have been built from scratch. The things that truly amaze are the ones that include moving parts, and even function as primitive computers. However, one teenager has managed to process advanced calculations using those very same blocks.

16-year-old “MaxSGB” has taken the time to build a machine that is roughly 250 x 250 x 100 blocks which will act as a scientific calculator. That’s right, just use the keypad to enter your problem, and the display will show your answer, including up to 25 digits, and virtually any symbol that is necessary.

I once built an underground train that connected several of the large structures on our office server, which took a considerable amount of time. Once it was finished, I felt quite accomplished. Now I don’t feel so bad when I remember that the server crashed and my series of tunnels was wiped forever. Compared to this calculator, that thing was child’s play.
