The Xbox 360 has been out for more than 6 years now, which has given many people a chance to amass a nice Gamerscore. Sure, when it boils down to it, the score is virtually meaningless. However, it’s a number to be proud of, as it shows off your achievements you’ve collected while playing games over the years on your favorite console. So what if you woke up one morning to find it sitting at 0? That’s exactly what’s happened to some gamers today.
Checking over at the Official Xbox Forums, there have been hundreds of posts very similar to this one: “So I turn on my X360 today and bam, there’s some connection error bla bla bla, but everything was working fine (Xbox live), except somehow all of my gaming history was reset, my achievements were also reset, and i had 0 gamerscore instead of ~20k.” With hundreds of people chiming in to say that they have been affected, it’s safe to say that this is a widespread problem.
After speaking with a Microsoft Support representative, it appears that this issue is related to a system update that they are rolling out. Your GamerScore and achievements are not lost. They recommend simply signing out of your profile and back in. This should resolve the issue and bring your account back to normal. If that does not work, you may want to try re-downloading your profile. If you continue to have issues, you may want to keep an eye on the Xbox Support Twitter account, as they are responding with updates frequently.
