Mass Effect 3 Sold 1.3+ Million In First Month
According to the NPD, when you count the numbers across the Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC, you’ll find that Mass Effect 3 sold over 1.3 million copies. More units of Mass Effect 3 were sold during that time frame than any other game in that month.
Microsoft executive tweeted that the Xbox 360 version of ME3 outsold the PS3 version 4:1, with 943 thousand units. However, it’s hard to gauge how many copies were sold on the PS3 and the PC because the NPD does not track digitally distributed products, meaning that the 1.3 million number is probably on the very low end of the actual number sold.
Mass Effect 3 ended up outselling its predecessor Mass Effect 2 by nearly double, NPD analyst Anita Frazier noted. Rounding out the top 10 of bestselling titles of the month in order are Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, MLB 12: The Show, NBA 2K12, SSX, Street Fighter x Tekken, Mario Party 9, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Naruto Shippuden: Ulitmate Ninja Storm Generations, Major League Baseball 2K12.
