The Diablo III Real Money Auction House Gets Delayed Again, More Hotfixes Applied

Blizzard announced recently that they would be delaying the release of Diablo III’s Real Money Auction House so they could deal with the server issues that were plaguing the game when it launched. The original expected launch date for the feature was May 22nd, and the developers sent it back to May 29th. It looks like now, however, Blizzard has pushed it back even further and has no anticipated release date for it. The in-game gold Auction House is still pushing strong.

Blizzard notes this in a post on the game’s official forums. In the post the developer also announces some hotfixes that have been made, and they’ve cranked out some kinks on the servers to make gameplay more stable. They also hint that a full patch may be coming shortly to help boost the game’s overall stability. This patch may come available next week.

One other thing Blizzard talked about in the post was the issue of players having their accounts hacked. You see, a lot of players chimed in on the forums about losing all of their gold and items suddenly out of nowhere during play. Blizzard says that their servers haven’t become compromised, nor have they been copied. The post reminds players to keep updating their passwords and make sure they have a secure email address to login with.

I’m glad Blizzard is setting to work on getting fixes rolled out for the game. I’m already having plenty of fun, and enjoying playing my Demon Hunter. With the care Blizzard is giving to Diablo III, I think it will soon wash away all of the negativity it’s gotten since launch. I think players can wait on the Real Money Auction House for a bit as long as the game is stable.
