Far Cry 3 Delayed Until December 4th

“Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity? It’s doing the exact same fucking thing over and over again, expecting shit to change.” You know, like listening to someone give a release date for a game, and then expecting it to actually show up on time. If you haven’t caught my drift just yet, I’m trying to tell you that Far Cry 3 has been delayed.

We originally expected to play the game in September, but now it looks as though we won’t have the opportunity until December 4th. Why? Naturally, the reason cited is to continue working on the game. Here’s what Producer Dan Hay had to say:

“We’re taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience. Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players.”

While I’d love to complain, I’m always far happier to see a polished game released late than a buggy one released on time. What’s unfortunate for Ubisoft is that by December we’ll have already seen the launch of both Halo 4 and Black Ops 2, which could impact sales.
