My Xbox Live App Finally Comes To Android

Remember how Microsoft was touting interconnectivity between phones, tablets, computers and the Xbox 360? Well, in some small ways Windows Phone and iOS users have been able to interact with their favorite console. Android owners, however, have been left out in the cold until today.

Microsoft has finally gotten around to releasing the My Xbox Live app for Android devices. You will now be able to do simple things like track achievements, modify your avatar and message other Xbox Live users. While this might make Android owners feel like they’ve finally caught up to the rest of the world, they couldn’t be further from the truth.

The iOS version of the app now allows users to control various functions of the 360, such as playing and pausing media (along with other standard media functions), access many of the menu options and more. It’s nice to see these updates from Microsoft, but we’re still a long way off from the SmartGlass features that they showed us last week.
