Angry Birds Trilogy Heads To Xbox 360, PS3 And 3DS This Fall

Have you been dying to get in on the Angry Birds craze, but didn’t have the means to play it? Well, if you’re reading this, then that really isn’t an issue. The game is currently available on tablets, smartphones, and even the browser you’re probably using right this very moment. But maybe what you’re really been waiting for is a good way to play it on the TV in your living room. Well you won’t have to wait too much longer.

Rovio has officially announced the Angry Birds Trilogy which they call “the ultimate collector’s edition.” The new collection will include the original Angry Birds, plus Seasons and Rio on one disc or cartridge. The games won’t look quite the same as we’ve seen on other platforms, though. According to the company “The backgrounds have been animated, we’ve added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on.”

So just what platforms are we looking at? This fall it will be making its way to the Xbox 360, PS3 and 3DS, with support for Kinect, PlayStation Move and StreetPass, respectively. The biggest unknown right now is the price for this title. Considering how inexpensive it is on other platforms, it’s going to have to be priced very competitively. The choice to release it on a physical medium is curious, as that will add overhead to the cost. However, the reason behind this is no doubt to cash in on gift-buyers during the holiday, who will see the “new” Angry Birds game, and pick it up.
