Dragon’s Dogma To Get “Easy Mode” Patch Next Week

Have you ever played a game that’s too hard to even beat? Sure, I come from a time where games like Battletoads and The Karate Kid existed, so most modern games don’t seem so impossible. However, if you spend more time beating your head against a wall after dying than actually making progress, then you probably aren’t enjoying yourself. So what do you do when you hit this kind of a wall? Well, depending on the game, you just turn down the difficulty level. And that’s exactly what you’re going to be able to do in Dragon’s Dogma, soon.

Capcom has announced that they will be patching in an “Easy Mode” for Dragon’s Dogma. Currently, the patch is slated for Monday, August 6th for both PS3 and Xbox 360. Unfortunately, as of now, the update is only scheduled for release in Japan.

I think the addition of an easy mode is good for just about any game. For those that can defeat a game on normal (or hard, if it’s available), then you’ll feel a sense of pride for doing it. However, it makes games more accessible by not forcing you to play a game at a setting that’s too low or high, based on your abilities.

Except the difficulty isn’t really the problem.Yeah it starts out pretty hard but it gets pretty easy once you get leveled up a bit like 99.9% of all other RPGs.The main complaint with the game is the annoying pawn chatter, that’s what they need to patch. There’s no reason for pawns to keep endlessly repeating the same dialogue lines over and over again. It doesn’t make them informative, it makes them annoying as hell. They also need to patch in a much more convenient form of fast travel.I don’t care if you’re the type of person that thinks hardcore gamers always walk, backtracking is repetitive and dull.Even Dark Souls gives you an easy to use fast travel system eventually.Developers always tend to miss the point of a game’s flaws when addressing them with patches.
