Final CoD: Modern Warfare 3 DLC Coming Soon

If you’re looking forward for Black Ops 2, but you can’t stand to go that long without new Call of Duty content you’ll be glad to know that there are a couple more bits of DLC for Modern Warfare 3 before Activision starts focusing on Black Ops 2. Later this month You’ll be able to get the MW3 Collection #3, known as the Chaos Pack. In September you’ll be able to pick up the 4th and final collection, known as the Final Assault. No specific date was announced in the press release.

The Chaos Pack caters to the solo and co-op enthusiasts of the game. It will include four new Special Ops mission, known as Vertigo, Arctic Recon, Light ‘Em Up, and Special Delivery, and 3 new FACE OFF maps, known as Vortex, U-Turn, and Intersection. Also coming to the Chaos Pack is a brand new Special Ops mode called, well, Chaos Mode. The purpose of Chaos Mode is to “outlast waves of enemies, while chaining kills on maps littered in power-ups to achieve the highest possible score on fan-favorite multiplayer maps Resistance, Village, Underground and Dome.”

Final Assault is tailored for the hardcore multiplayer fans, featuring 5 brand new maps. You can fight in a forgotten mining town/mine in Gulch, or defend the Jersey Shore in Boardwalk if you so choose. Offshore and Decommission are both based on the ocean, with Offshore taking place on oilrigs and Decommission taking place across several rotting ocean liners. The last map, Parish, is set in New Orleans war-torn French Quarter.

If you can’t wait for Black Ops 2, be prepared to spend a little cash on these DLC packs: they’ll first appear on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 1,200 Microsoft Points, or around $15 each.
