Mars: War Logs Takes Players To The Red Planet Next Year

Developer Spiders, the co-developer behind Of Orcs and Men, is planning to show players the ferocity of the red planet in 2013. Their new project called Mars: War Logs will be a downloadable title that will land on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Focus Home Interactive will take the reigns for publishing the game, and they’ve sent out a press release giving some insight into what the game is.

Mars: War Logs is set to be a cyberpunk action/RPG that will take place on the planet for which it’s named. “Mars: War Logs offers a wide variety of quests, dynamic tactical combat, and extensive character specialization through different skill trees and a complete craft system,” says the release. The game takes place during a time that’s a century after a catastrophic event that threw the planet and its colonists into a time of chaos. Companies in the game will be at war over the planet’s diminishing resources like water, food, and more.

The game runs on the Silk Engine, which will help make this game beautiful and enticing. Players will take on the role of Roy Temperance, a renegade with multiple talents. Players develop Roy and his combat style by choosing from dozens of skills and perks. There will be an in-game crafting system that lets players create and modify equipment to maintain an edge over enemies. Dialogue choices as well as actions and decisions made will influence the destiny of the people Roy crosses paths with…and perhaps the fate of all colonies on Mars.
