Microsoft Announces Xbox 360 Essentials Pack

Microsoft has announced a new hardware accessory bundle that will be out just in time for the holiday season. Dubbed the Xbox 360 Essentials Pack, you’ll get everything you need to get started with your shiny new console. No, none of the items are absolutely necessary to play, but they do come in handy. They are as follows:

  • Wireless Xbox 360 Controller
  • HDMI Cable
  • Media Remote
  • 3-month Xbox Live Gold Subscription

The price for the pack is set at $80. Microsoft claims that this is a $55 savings over buying the items individually. However, even if you’re buying everything from say, Best Buy, you’re only going to save $35 at most.

Looking at Amazon, I found everything for right around $80. I could have found it cheaper, but I tend to go for items that qualify for Amazon Prime, due to free shipping, and such. So if you are picking up a brand new Xbox 360 and you’re looking for all four things, then this isn’t a bad deal. Just know that if you don’t want everything, then you’re better off buying the other things online. Look for the Essentials Pack starting in October
