Bayonetta Returns With A Confirmed Sequel

Bayonetta was one of those games that felt like a guilty pleasure. You played as a super sexy witch who used her hair not only as a smoking outfit, but as a weapon against angels and demons alike. When in combat she could use her hair and turn it into a huge dragon’s head that will eat enemies. If that was going on, and if her hair was also her outfit, where do you think it went when she made attacks like that?

Anyway, the game was thought dead after it originally released. Some people have been talking about it and the game does have somewhat of a loyal fanbase, but it wasn’t enough to warrant anymore thought it seemed. That was until now it seems.

Platinum Games said they’d love to make a sequel to Bayonetta when the time was right, and that time is apparently right now. Bayonetta 2 has been confirmed, though it comes with some potentially bad news. The game will be a Wii U exclusive title but it will be published by Nintendo. That’s right, the company that brought you Toad and Peach will now be bringing back Bayonetta. I don’t really know how this will affect not only the game but the company seeing as how Bayonetta focuses so much on sexuality and violence. The original game was published by Sega, and we know they don’t mess around.

On the other hand, though, the use of the touch pad on the Wii U could be interesting. I’m wondering how this would work out, if only from a totally male perspective. Still, we’ll have to wait for more information just to see how this will play out, but in the end I feel like it’s going to end up being a very stifled title that has potential to disappoint fans of the original.
