Kickstarter: Year Of The Game

It has been a serious year for pushing new games on Kickstarter. This medium of funding has been building momentum for a while, but it seems like it has been in the past several months that things have really just begun to be…everywhere. Every direction you turn there’s another game coming out thanks to Kickstarter.

This all kicked off with Double Fine back in February, as it got over $1 million within its first day. Of course, everyone wanted to jump on the bandwagon after that, and it’s been picking up speed ever since. Kickstarter put out some crazy numbers for projects this year, and gamers round the globe will be pleased to know that games take the top tier.

I think it goes without saying that this is due to us being tired of having to deal with money-grabbing companies. If you want to see that full stats, go here. Let’s keep making these games happen!
