Ex-People Can Fly Devs Announce Their New Studio

Three game developers who most recently worked at People Can Fly, the studio responsible for Bulletstorm and the upcoming Gears of War: Judgment title, have left to seek further horizons. The trio, known as The Astronauts, are Adrian Chmielarz, Adrzej Poznanski, and Michal Kosieradzki. Together they have created Warsaw Studio, and they’ve just signed a deal with the Unreal Engine.

A long-term Unreal Engine licensing agreement has just been signed by the trio, and it will be the basis of the brand new project the team wants to release upon the world. The reason behind this is so that the team can take advantage of the technology they are already skilled in using. It’s a good idea, especially if the studio wants to create something from the ground-up.

“We’ve worked with UE3 for the last six years, and we know its power,” said Adrian Chmielarz. “We are on a quest to map uncharted waters, and Epic’s tech provides the stability required for success.” Epic Games has lost a significant amount of staff over the past few months, with Rod Fergusson leaving for Irrational Games in August and Cliff Bleszinzki’s resignation earlier this month. Aside from Fortnite, Epic’s future remains unclear. As far as Warsaw goes, however, we’ll be looking to next year to see their debut project.
