Mass Effect 3 Retaliation DLC Releases Next Week

BioWare announced yesterday that the next bit of multiplayer DLC for Mass Effect 3 will be known as “Retaliation”, and it features an enemy you haven’t seen since ME2: the Collectors. When fighting the Collectors you’ll have to face off against the Praetorian, the Scion, Abominations, Troopers, and the Captain. Cerberus is also getting the Dragoon and the Geth now have new Drones for you to fight.

Of course, the good guys are getting some new classes as well. Two of the classes added are the Turian Havoc Soldier and the Turian Ghost Infiltrator, and it appears that more will show up on a regular basis. The classes will be needed, as BioWare is changing up existing maps by adding “Hazard” versions of them that bring new challenges to the terrain, including sandstorms, swarms, lightning, meltdowns, acid, and whiteouts!

Other features include new Collector weapons, upgrades, and the Multiplayer Challenge feature. You can earn Challenge points by completing different mini-goals with your characters, and with those Challenge points you can unlock different in-game titles and banners as bonuses. The DLC will be free for everyone, and will be out on October 9th (October 10th for the PS3 in Europe).
