Borderlands 2 Graveyard Virus Patch Fix Now Available On Xbox 360

It looks like Borderlands 2 players can finally get back to looting in peace now thanks to Gearbox. Earlier we reported on an issue where players would see all their hard work put to rest as their characters would die indefinitely once they hit a graveyard in public games. This was an issue that stemmed from users modifying the game’s code on Xbox 360 to unlock a Diablo III-like hardcore mode in which once your characters die, they’re gone forever.

Players who would join public games with anyone using the exploit would be susceptible to the modifications “infecting” their systems and forcing them to lose everything once they died. The “Graveyard Virus” has been going around for a bit, but there’s some good news: Gearbox has issued a patch to completely fix the issue on the 360.

All you need to do is load up the game and you’ll be automatically prompted to download and install the new patch. No more worrying about contracting the virus, as the patch allows players to once again enjoy public matches. Now I don’t know exactly if the patch reverses the modifications set by those who hacked the game, or if it just stops the mod from infecting other systems, but either way it’s all good news. Players on the PC and PS3 don’t have anything to worry about, as their systems weren’t ever in danger.
