DmC Son of Sparda Edition Detailed

Not too much has been cracking the surface lately on the newest Devil May Cry title in the works. Of course there’s still the debate on whether the new version of Dante is passable or not, but that’s a conversation that will continue to rave long past the game’s release. No matter how you slice it, DmC is coming and we’ve got details on the special Son of Sparda Edition of the game that super fans can pick up.

Capcom is offering fans of the Devil May Cry series a nice load of swag with this sweet edition. By dropping your money on it you can pick up:

  • Copy of DmC
  • Replica of Dante’s necklace
  • Samurai Pack DLC’

The Samurai Pack DLC changes Dante’s shotgun, scythe, and ace into what are called “Samurai Devastators” and offers bonus upgrade points at the start of the game. There isn’t any pricing information listed yet, and since it’s got a PEGI rating we don’t know if this will be a Europe-exclusive edition or not. We’ll be waiting for more details as they come.

I’m a fan of the Devil May Cry series, and I don’t really have a problem with where the team went on this one. I like the idea of a new Dante, and I’m interested in seeing where the game’s story takes us. I think that the series has had a nice run, but it’s time for some new life and I think Capcom made the right choice here. DmC will be available on January 15th early next year.
