Here we see the 840 take the lead in read speeds over the 3K, but those write speeds are beat out by even the 830, which tops out at 60MB/s faster than the newer drive.
Interestingly enough, this is the first test where the HyperX 3K is able to get a foothold over the 840 Pro. The 3K is able to hold write speeds well over 500MB/s, while the 840 Pro hovers in the high 400’s. Read speeds are a different story, but the 3K is only slightly behind in these tests.

No real surprises here. The 840 still lags behind the other drives in sequential write speeds, and has fantastic read speeds.
The 840 Pro still shows its might here, as well. It easily surpasses the other three drives tested in all areas. The regular 840 is at least able to keep pace in the read department, however.
