Wikipad Delayed At Last Minute

If you were looking to get the Wikipad I’m afraid I have some bad news. It turns out that the development team has decided to delay the release of the tablet for an undetermined amount of time. It was originally supposed to be launched yesterday, on October 31st.

According to the press release the reason for the delay is to take advantage of a “last minute opportunity” so that the Wikipad could be “enhanced”. It’s then also noted in the press release that the delay will allow them to make a “minor refinement needed” so that the first people who end up buying the system will be “completely satisfied” with it. If you’re somebody who’s preordered the system through GameStop you’ll be glad to know that despite having to wait for the system to come out you will be getting a special bonus gift to help make up for it.

I find it a bit strange that they decided to wait until the day it was supposed to come out to announce it was being delayed. My guess is that it turned out that the system was going to take a lot longer than expected to develop, and that this is their attempt at saving face. At this time they have not given out a new release date yet.
