God Of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta To Start January 8th For PS Plus Members

Back in the day when it came to testing out games before their release it was generally up to a small team in the company to make sure that a game wasn’t broken. Sometimes it worked out well, and games were released without any major issues. Other times, however, a game would make it through so buggy that it really made you wonder “what the hell happened?”

Nowadays, however, many companies use the people to help with their beta testing, and God of War: Ascension is perhaps the latest game to have such a public beta. That’s right, starting January 8th if you’re a PlayStation Plus member you’ll be able to download the God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta and give it a try for yourself! And despite being in beta, it looks like it’s going to be fun as it features Favor of the Gods mode and Team Favor of the Gods mode on the Desert of Lost Souls map.

So what is Favor of the Gods? Both map modes will see you trying to earn the favor of the Gods by earning points from kills, capturing domination points, opening chests, and even if you can perform executions with the “Spear of Olympus”. And if you’re interested in trying out the beta but don’t know what your doing, the beta comes with a tutorial level where you can learn some much needed skills. The beta also includes a look into the customization options for characters and it’ll show some of the upgrades that will appear in the final game.
