Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD Now On PSN

Many PlayStation owners remember the Oddworld games Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus, where Abe had to help save his people from the Glukkon Companies Rupture Farms and the SoulStorm Brewery. Many PlayStation owners are probably also aware that the third game in the series, Munch’s Oddysee, wasn’t released on the PlayStation 2 (the console it was originally being developed for), but rather it appeared as one of the launch titles for Microsoft’s new Xbox. But now Munch’s Oddysee has finally made its way back to the PlayStation line of consoles, as it was released on the PSN earlier this week!

Munch’s mission is straightforward: He needs to rescue his people. Hunted and farmed into near-extinction, Munch has to get the last can Gabbiar in order to help propagate his species. It won’t be easy, however, and he’ll need the help of Abe to do it.

Munch’s Oddysee for the PSN isn’t just a port, but a full-on HD remake of the original game. Everything has been fully remodeled, and the audio has been redone for the PS3 as well. Of course, the controls are set to work with the PS3’s DualShock 3 controller (instead of the giant Xbox controller) and the game also includes unlockable art and 46 trophies. A PS Vita version will also be available sometime early next year.
