I’m not going to lie, there are quite a few gamers out there who don’t care about sports. In fact, for some people it may have been a lack of talent in a sport like football that caused them to go into video games in the first place! But what do you do if you’re at work and everybody starts talking about the “Big Game” this weekend and you have no idea what they’re talking about? You could always start looking at all the websites dedicated to the NFL, and try to understand the game in a week…
The other option, of course, is to let EA Sports do all the work for you! After running their annual Madden simulation between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Fransisco 49ers the result is that the Ravens will beat the 49ers 27 to 24. In the end, it came down to a last-ditch play by the 49ers, only to have the Ravens intercept the pass and preserve their hard-fought win.
Of course, some of you might be saying “But this is just a video game, the actual game is going to have so many different variables that it’s impossible to accurately simulate the matchup, right?” Not necessarily: over the last 9 years, the Madden simulations have correctly predicted the winner 7 times. If I were a betting man and I took those bets, I’d be beating the house right now! You can check out EA Sports recap of the Super Bowl below.
