Interview With Slender: The Arrival Writers!

I recently had the chance to sit down with Joseph DeLage, Troy Wagner and Tim Sutton of Marble Hornets fame to talk with them about their work on their new game being released by Blue Isle Studios, Slender: The Arrival.  For those who don’t know, Slender: The Arrival is the sequel to the underground smash hit Slender: The Eight Pages, and is based around the internet legend of The Slenderman while being heavily inspired by internet webseries like Marble Hornets and EverymanHYBRID.

Slender: The Eight Pages was an experiment by Mark Hadley to try and make his own game.  Slender: The Arrival is a much more fleshed out continuation of the idea, featuring a story written by the aforementioned creators of Marble Hornets.  In our interview, DeLage, Wagner and Sutton mentioned that The Arrival goes beyond the simple task of collecting the scattered pages in a single wooded area.  There are several builds and an explanation for the character’s purpose in any given area, and new characters outside of the player and the Slenderman have been hinted at in the few promotional screens and videos that have been released.

Check out the video below for more information on the upcoming game, as well as a bit of insight into Marble Hornets itself.  For those interested in getting Slender: The Arrival, you can purchase it now on the game’s website for only $5, which is half of the asking price for when it becomes commercially available on March 26th.  Those who feel more generous can give more and receive more perks, such as a soundtrack, digital artwork, and a “thank you” mention in the game’s credits.
